I was completely terrified. Absolutely horrified at the images that ran through my mind the moment that Sienna had wrapped her arms around me. Subconsiously, I shiver when she lets go of me. The thought that I was being buried alive making my stomach drop into nothing and my mind racing with fear. However, Sienna is quick to try to right whatever it was she was doing. Was she afraid I wasn't going to wake? Maybe I happen to get sicker through the night? At that moment, I feel nothing wrong with me; no headache. There isn't any sign of a dry mouth due to fever. My body does still ache, but for the most part, I feel better then I did yesterday. Still, I wipe at my eyes, clearing my eyes of the fog that came from the long nights sleep. I try to see her through slitted eyes to see if she was alright from where I asked her, but forgot that she couldn't speak, for whatever reason I'd yet to find out. She's quick to nod to her head up and down to answer my question.
"Good." I state just one simple word, however, her head started shaking 'no' again making me curious what she's talking about. At this point, I'm lost in her unspoken words. Her absence of a voice makes this difficult so early this morning when my waking world is nothing but noticing the sky is light and the air is cold. I don't try to comprehend what she's saying right now and just leave it alone as she points to me once again and shakes her head.
"I'm sorry, I don't understand. Are you saying it's not okay or something?" I try, honestly, I do, but I just can't put it together right now. Especially the moment she points at herself and does nothing with her face, I shake my head and lean my face down into my hands and raised legs to prop them on. When the conversation has nothing but silence, she removes herself from the sleeping bag.
"Where are you going? Are you leaving now?" I'm very curious where she's going to go after sharing a warm night with me. Does she have somewhere else to go that I can't comprehend out of her? Is she even going to be alright? I pull the sleeping back back up on my shoulders, putting my head back on the crook of my bent arm on my elbow. My eyes open and close a few times, still heavy from the fevered sleep I drifted off into last night. Yet, I realize how urgent it was for me to get a move on it today. It would have to be today, because I need to find out if my brother was still alive. With the peacekeepers coming out here, it mustn't be too far from the nearest district line and fences. If only, I could sneak into the district and try to find my brother, I could try to get him back. My biggest fear is if he's already been shipped back to our district or if he might be dead. Same goes for the old man. I get a sudden pang of guilt knowing the man was captured because of me. I will also try to find him and bring him along. Two more in our group would be lovely.
With a huge yawn, I look over to the girl who seems to be doing something that I can't tell what as the dawn of the new day rises with every minute and my day is being wasted in trying to find my brother. Sitting up, I let the sleeping back fall from my shoulders and land on my lap and I do the same as Sienna did only moments ago. I stand up and start rolling my sleeping bags up and stuffing them into the two packs that I'm going to take with me. I look over to Sienna.
"Hey, Sienna... you going somewhere special now? You survived the night, all nice and warm. Might you have plans on where your going next? Look, I'm going to go try to find my brother. You're welcome to tag along, if you wish, but I'm not going to ask you to follow." I state, while stuffing my bag with the final contents that I need and taking one last look at the bottle of medicine that I store neatly in one little spot so I'll know where it is without having to look for it. Another yawn escapes me as I cover it and zip up the bag. "thank you again for hiding the bags yesterday and showing me where they were." I figured I would leave the girl with pleasant words before I head out, but for some reason I wait. I stand there as I get the bag on my back, pushing the second back over the first and securing it over my shoulders. A small wave of dizziness overtakes me for a moment with the weight that pulls on my weakened state. I sidestep clumsily but regain my footing quickly, waiting on her answer.
