Matthew's first reaction to me looking around his room is with a sly comment which actually has me smiling. Did he expect for me to see those things? Those stufed animals or cars? I imagined your room to be this way. I shake my head and say, "Yeah... totally. Where's the bear at?" I make light the small joke and as I get comfortable on his bed, allowing myself to lean on one side, resting my damaged arm beside of me and letting the muscles relax against the weight pulling on my arm. His questions come barreling out and I only shrug to the question about being in pain, then nod when he mentions water. A moment later, he disappears for a time.
I've got no energy or strength to really move around much or I'd want to explore his room. Instead, I let my eyes wash over his walls, looking at the many things in here. Though, due to the sudden silence in here, I feel my eyes wanting to close and I allow myself to do just that. I relax. Fully. I never expected that he would have taken me to his place. Allowed me to stay at his old barn hideout, yes, but here? Never. I could see the shock on his fathers face when I had arrived and begin to put two and two together. He doesn't bring girls here. Not with his reputation and I'm sure his father knows that. What am I suppose to think? I open my eyes just in time to see Matthew coming in with a small aray of foods. I lift my head up as he offers the stuff and he bounces on the bed, biting into an apple. The table beside his bed has the morsels on it, and eagerly I reach for the water first. The food can wait, but the water quenches my everlasting thirst since the battle. I lay back down, repositioning my arm, flinching as I do.
"You okay? Does it hurt a lot?" He asks, his hand rubbing the small of my back. I nodd slightly. My entire body hurts but to really express pain I'm not much fond of, so instead I just knock his questions off with a statement.
"Compaired to what? A knife or falling on my behind?" I gently tease and get lost with that gentle touch of comfort he's allowing me. Once again, I try to flex my fingers but the two smaller ones seems to make me flinch when the muscles pinch. I close my eyes for a few moments. "I never expected to lose to her. I wanted so bad to get her down. To make her pay for what she's done. I also didn't expect to go down like that in front of everyone. That's the worst part about it." I voice out, taking a deep breath. I glance over at him for a moment and give him a cocky grin and a wink. "Guess I won't get to have another rematch against you. I was kinda looking forward to that."
