Twelve years ago in District 3, Stella Lécuyer was pregnant with her fourth child, Elliana. She was part of a prominent family that had been around for many generations. The Lécuyer's owned a successful apothecary and lived above it comfortable. It is said that this family has magical powers from the spirits to help them with their potions and trickery. They were respected for the good they did but also the rumored power they have to kill. No one in the town knows for sure if the rumors are true but no one wants to find out. Once the store front closes they only imagine what witchery goes on behind their doors. To this family respect came from fear and this fear that ran through the veins of the townspeople ran back generations. It was part of the families tradition that every generation would have a seer, a person that could see the future. One of Stella's children Sybil had this so called gift. It was three months shy of December when the eight year old started to see visions of a tragedy. [break][break]
on the eleventh day of december, the new baby of the family was stillborn, confirming Sybil's prediction. With the lost of her baby, Stella wouldn't leave the house, refusing to let anyone in the town know about how they couldn't save one of their own. weeks past and it wasn't for long that people began to get suspicious of the disappearance of Stella as well as her oldest daughter. Tossing back and forth in her sleep, Sybil claimed she saw a baby boy that the spirits gave them as repayment for taking Elliana's young life. This little boy, she prophesied, would be the downfall to their family. It wasn't long before the baby boy's house was mysteriously set aflame, killing the young babies parents. However the fire did not sweep away his older sister and brother who believe their baby brother was also killed. It was from then on the Lécuyer's raised the baby boy Elliot after their lost child. The Wexhart's were smart but not as smart as the witch family. Someone needed to take blame for what happened to three of the Cross'. Using their understanding of science and wit, Jon Wexhart was accused of the arsony and murder. This ruined them, they were poor after having to give it to the Cross' as payment for what they had done. Because of this their reputation was tattered and no one would ever believe them accusing the Lécuyer's of anything. Watching their hard work and father be ripped away was enough to make them swear vengence. [break][break]
through all this, there is only one family that knows part of the truth to the Cross mystery. the oldest Rentcharron boy was their when the fire had happened, playing with the Cross children. through the Flames and smoke, he saw on the the witches use their magic to burn the house down. the two made eye contact but before he could say anything was knocked over by the flame. he stayed quiet, afraid of what would happen if he said anything. but even if he would he couldn't. the twins of their family became very ill. the Lécuyer's were the only people who could cure them but the price was too much. instead of a price in money, they made Florian swear to never say a thing about it. if he did, he would be sorry for his siblings and himself.
