Just as I expected Mark wanted to use all this against me and he is. That's the whole point whey he hit me in the first place. The reason why he chose me is still beyond me but maybe it's because I'm an easy target and the whole of district two knows what I did to Tyren.
As he starts feeding the brothers his bullshit side of the story I can't hold back.
"He came up to me last week. Tried to gloat about how he took part in the pregames."
I cock my head to the side because I'm pretty sure how this is going to play out.
I sit up straight on the edge of the bright yellow sunchair and watch Tyren wipe some blood from his nose. Damn shame I'm not bleeding.
"A week later we got on to talking about my birthday and he said he'd buy me a ticket to the hospital. I guess he wanted to eliminate the competition or something"
I start glaring at him, then switch my gaze to Tyren while trying my best to hold back the reaction he's trying to provoke.
"I know we're not exactly inside and out cousins, but we can at least agree that I'm not going to let something like that slide."
That's when I start shaking my head at him with a sarcastic smile.
"You're so full of shit, man. Why don't you tell him what really happened?"
I don't get up but I stare at the guy in front of me while the others are in the pool watching us closely. They are probably trying to figure out what happened.
"Tyren, I told you what happened and I swear it's the truth."
As calm as I manage in this situation of being accused I cross my arms over my chest.
I'm well aware how this looks because of all the shit I've done before but I hope that my best friend will take my word over his cousins.
"I didn't throw the first punch...with a fucking iron bar!"
Briefly I look over at Alex but already know I've lost him. I don't care. I need Tyren.
