Actually getting up the stairs wasn't much of a challenge, at least not at first. Though, with the help of Vy, it made it easier but no clue how we were able to stay on our feet without either of us tumbling down that flight of stairs. Luckily, we made it to the bedroom within good health, aside from my knee, which at first glance was turning a dark color. Who actually knew that it would create such a bruise from landing on it with that much force? Just looking at it makes me cringe even though I've had broken bones and busted cheek bones before. It has to be the thought that a toddlers toy was able to do such damage. Unimaginably, my balance as of late has grown into nothing but a clumsey mess. I need to train more. THis never used to happen. I've always had impecable balance and skills. What the hell is wrong with me now?
In bed, Vy and I have found that enjoying comfort is what is needed most. At least a soft mattress and fluffy pillows is just the thing to take care of our drunken states. I"ve taken immediate comfort from my own bed, but Vy's having a hard time adjusting, so I take a pillow and throw it at her. Again, laughter seems to take over me and the nighttime appeal is playing with my head. So, I guess the night is over with.
A headache is what wakes me up first thing this morning. A slight, pressure headache somewhere near the back of my head. With gentle movements, I place my hand at the back of my head to start relaxing the muscles cramping my movements. Beside me, my eyes fall upon my simple, black clock but the timing just doesn't seem right. It's early. Almost too early for a night a drinking to wake up this morning, but something else seems to hit with the headache as well. My stomach churns so abruptly causing me to curl up into myself. A slight moan esacapes my mouth and after a minute or two, it seems to die down enough that I have the chance to remember the company I had last night that isn't here in the bed with me.
"Vy?" I question, sitting up with my hand massaging my temples. The headache seems to lighten with the motion to sit up, so I don't complain a bit. I just let my feet touch the floor and out of the room, I head down the hallway and to the kitchen. Odd smells seems to waft around, making its way to the top of the stairs and right before I go down, I check my father's room for occupancy. Maybe Vy left when my dad got home. Maybe even got changed adn then decided to actually be a father again?
With nothing out of the ordinary, I deduce that it has to be Vy downstairs making that smell that's lingering in my nose. Again, that feeling in the pit of my stomach churns up for round two, but I push it away. Just too many drinks last night.
The couch is seemingly still being occupied by the little girl. Her ability to sleep must have been effected by the playtime and stuff from yesterday and the excitment of sleeping over at my house, so a play plays on my lips as I turn the corner to look into the kitchen at Vy, whose made herself completely at home with the breakfast foods spead out on the counter and the pans being used. I take a wiff of the food, but push the smell out as soon as I can. "Morning, Gorgeous. What's for breakfast, my lady?" I tease her and give her a hearty smile.
