The day was beautiful and what was Brick doing but making her way down into her kitchen with her hand on her head. It was going to be a long day and she's just gotten down with a really long one the day before. At least today she could snooze and lounge on the couch in her office until her clients came in. At least today she wasn't going to have to deal with physical injuries like she'd been doing the day before. No she got to talk to people all day and that listen. She like this aspect of her work for more than patching up broken bones and skinned knees so to speak. Still the day was so nice and she really just wanted to sit outside and watch her small little garden grow.
It had taken her years to get the few plants that she did have. She let out a sigh as she made herself some tea. It was her first cup of the week because even that was rare to find. The capitol took mostly everything at least she was wealthy enough to find a way to get the things that were hard to buy. On top of that she didn't need to feed others so she left most of the good stuff they did get to the others who had family to raise. She just had her few things and she was good. After all it didn't matter to her how extravagant her clothing for non work events and such were. She liked the simple things in life but she still knew how to hold herself. After all she wouldn't be a member of the Denton family if she did not.
She had her tea and put the cup in the sink. She took a deep breath and walked into her bedroom once again. A few minutes later she was dressed in green scrubs and heading off towards her office. She smiled as she strolled down the streets. Children were running about getting ready for school and those two young were chasing after their siblings. Life was a bussle on the streets and Brick couldn't help but take it all in with a smile. Everyone had something they did to pretend to be normal. After all some had lost their family members of their siblings or someone to the games. Everyone wore a mask and one just had to know how to break through it.
Nothing is ever what it appears to be and that thought alone make Brick giggle a little bit as she opened the door to her office and checked the list of people who might come in today. After all she never forced anyone to come in. She headed towards her desk and sat in her chair. She'd go to the training center and the peacekeeper academy at some point today. Right now she would sit with a book open reading until someone decided they needed to come in or were dragged in. Either way she knew how to deal with them and a slow morning would mean that she would have plenty of time to relax.
