Jeran and Kyanite Ruze
Ages: Six and Four
Ages: Six and Four
Snow. One of life's little surprises to wake up to in the morning for children that have school early in the morning. Although, that doesn't effect the four year old Kya who stands so eagerly at the window of their house just begging for the feel of snow against her fingertips. Jeran on the other hand, sits on the couch, with his feet against the back rest and his head touching the floor. A position often scolded for, but with the absence of their father, their mother lets his behavior slide.
"Momma. Can we go outside to play, yet? Pleaseeee?" Jeran's voice cracks just slightly as he strains to get his voice to convince the gentle face of his mom. She shakes her head to him and looks to Kya whose nose is starting to fog up the window. With a small sigh, she tries to coax Kyanite away from the window with her voice.
"Kya. Come over here and sit down. Charlie will be here shortly. Then you two can go play, okay?" Kya lets out a little sigh and bounces over to the couch, trying to tackle Jeran, but he gets a good grip on her and rolls off the couch to tickle her. He pins her down playfully, letting his fingertips tickle her sides and on her neck. Giggles errupt from the two children, but Kya's coughing stops the play for a moment as Jeran tilts his head a little.
"You okay, Kya?" He questions but in responce she only gives a solid nod. No being sick for her and she knows that if she says anything different, then playing outside in the fresh snow will be a no-go. For now, Kya hides the fact that she isn't feeling well by covering it up with smiles. Jeran turns to look to his mother then back at Kya when he takes his hands to cup around her ears and grinning all the while.
"Hey, Kyanite... wanna build a snowman?" He teases her. With a quick motion, he starts running around the couch like a relay race and Kya decides to join in as well. Three times around, has their mother's head spinning as she finally gets up from the chair, placing the book down that she was writing in and goes over near the door. Grabbing on to the two small coats, she hands them outward.
"If you two rambunctious little kids don't get out in that snow, I'm going to set it on fire and melt it." Immediately, the two children gasp and race for the coats, barely getting them on in time for the door to be opened. Kya's coat though is mended by her mother, who lets her run outside once the gloves are on.
Beautiful white power covers the morning ground not yet touched by children's feet. Jeran instantly plops down into the foot of snow, taking a fresh dusting into his face with a shock.
"COLD...." He shouts as Kya takes a few leaping jumps over the white stuff.
