[Jem Morgan]
I live my life inside a dream,
only waking when I sleep
If I could sell my sorry soul, I would have it all

“I’m glad to see we are on the same page then,” Jem said with a grin. He was close enough that the clean scent of the Dan’s skin filled his nostrils with each breath. The aroma seemed to contradict everything about the scar-covered ruffian before him, but that was to be expected, Jem supposed, while they were under the care and grooming of the Capitol. He had to admit that his rival would likely be better suited for whatever wild environment the Gamemakers had concocted for this year than in this streamlined training center. That was half the point of allying with him in the first place of course. Each of the boys had skillsets to benefit the other for the time being.
As Dan had yet to show signs of discomfort or hostility, Jem played his luck even further. He moved his hand from the cowboy’s arm to the collar of his shirt, ever so slightly pulling at it with his fingers. He could feel the warmth emanating from Dan’s chest as his forefinger delicately grazed his skin. “Either way, I’ll see more of those scars soon enough.” He continued to lock his emerald gaze onto those cold, wild eyes. Despite his years of career training in District One, and the various categories he’d come across in that time, he had never seen one quite of this breed. It was simultaneously intriguing and unnerving. Was Jem actually attracted to Dan? He played this little game so much, he had no idea where his true affections lie. What he did know however was the time-tested expression: keep your friends close and your enemies closer…
