Kyanite still looks very pale and uncomfortable but she humors me by saying. "This place would be nice once you fixed it up. It would take some major elbow grease. Maybe a lot of time. If you want help, I will? I've got nothing but free time on my hands."
I look over at her with a smile because I like the fact she wants to support me if I make this my project. So far I'm not sure whether I'd offer her to move in as well. I'm not ready to share my home with her because then have nowhere to retreat to if it gest too much. Should she be in need of a roof because of her father I'd surely let her stay. For now I keep quiet about that and grin.
"I'd appreciate your help. Not sure how much you can do in a few months but you used to be pretty strong the last time we sparred.
She really put up a good fight.
"Do you want to head to my house to kinda stay a while? I'm sure dad's at work... or gone. The usual. I think he's seeing someone. I think that's why he's always gone. He's been staying out at night a lot lately claiming it's work, but I just don't know. The empty house is just too quiet sometimes. I miss you and Jeran."
"No, not really." I tell her honestly because the last thing I want right now is to run into her brother or worse, her father.
"Lets stay here a little longer?"
"Good idea." I nod and put my arm around her shoulder. The drizzle from the rain sprays the outer edge of the porch and makes it slippery.
Kyanite goes back inside to lay down and makes room for me but right now but my belly's starting to rumble.
"I'm hungry. I think I'll run to the store. What can you hold down?"
Suddenly it's all about the pregnancy.
She looks like she really wants me to lay down so I quickly scoot on the spot next to her but the space is so tight that our whole length connects.
I turn towards her and let my hand trail down her arm from her shulder to her elbow before I close my eyes to kiss her. I let my lips linger on hers for a bit, then whisper against them. "I like this kind of breakfast, too."
