It takes Kyanite a little longer than me to calm down from the sudden rude awakening. I'm really surprised when she actually tells me about her dream because I really don't know much about her history with Jins. What I've seen is enough for me to understand her but her words shed more light on the role he played in her life.
It's a mircale she'd let any guy in at all.
"Same as always. He's always in them...I was twelve. It was back to that day when I had my first sparring match... with him. My father threatening me to not lose and I had to be prepared to take him down in that fight. My father wouldn't accept defeat. It was weird though, cause I thought that all of this... you and me... this baby was the dream."
I can't say much to that.
"Our imagination can be strong."I don't have a lot of vivid dreams but occassionally i get them, too. The ones that seem so real that you get confused.
"So, I was pushed to my room to get ready and when I turned around in my room, he was there with the sword and then he rammed it through my stomach. I think I felt actual pain, Matthew. I don't know why... I didn't think you could feel pain in dreams?"
"Not usually...are you okay?" My hand feels for her slightly rounder midsection as if I could feel anything.
"he tried to kiss me in the dream. He came so close to it after he pushed me over. I don't think I'll ever get rid of him, Matthew. I don't."
"How much of your dream was real?" Silently I wonder what Jins really did to her. Did he kiss her?
"You will get rid of him. He's dead. It'll take time but he can't bother you anymore. You just have to get used to the idea."
Who am I to dish out advice like that? It's notlike I'm good at dealing with any of my problems when my best solution is an underground fight.
As bad as it all is for Kyanite her words give me some sort of relieve after ending the man's life. It still seems wrong but more justified to know the sort of harm he did to her for so many years.
That's when we get interrupted because a new nurse comes in to ask whether she's okay and she confirms it. At least it's not that nurse anymore, who made me her primary target of the night.
Her hand gently runs along my injured one making me flinch a little
"I"m sorry. I didn't mean to fall asleep on you before you got back. What did they say? Is it broken? and your head? How are you feeling?"
"It's okay, you should rest. It took them too long. No, not broken, just dislocated. They popped it back in place but I have to keep it still because the ligaments have to heal." I quickly sum it up and place my head rigt next to hers on the pillow.
"Still hurst, no dizziness. I'm tired. How about we sleep together now?"
"I love hearing this sound. She's soothing to listen to. I can't beleive it won't be but a few more months before we can hold her. Before, she'll be ours to see."
A smile plays on my lips while I close my eyes. "Hm, it's the calm before the storm." That's a load of bulshit considering what happened today.
"It'll be great." Hopefully my joke won't rile her up again.
Before she can get mad I'm asleep behind her and don't wake up again through any of the nurses checks until somebody shakes me awake the next morning.
I blink at the bright light that's filling the room. The sun is beaming in through the east facing window.
"It's time to weak up, breakfast is here and the doctor will be here shortly."
We have breakfast in bed- well, Kyanite in bed and me on the chair but at least I get something.
I'm pretty sure I look rough with my growing, uncombed hair, unshaved and the dirt from the fight on my clothes.
"I can't wait to go home....Kyanite. Do you want to come to my place?" I doubt she wants to go into her own home that's soiled and full of signs of the fight.
"You can stay there until me and your brother cleaned up the mess."
