Hatred boiled through his veins with every passing second. Hot tears slid down his face dropping on the cold, crunchy ground. Red spots danced before his eyes with each step he took. A gentle breeze flew through the air chilling him to the bone forcing his hands to pull the jacket tighter around him. A dead leaf bounced off the ground flying higher and higher in the sky until it finally came to rest on his head. Kraygon looked around wondering what the hell had happened. Smoke continued pouring from the justice center as the citizens tried putting the fire out. The wind only fueled the fire making it grow larger despite the efforts of those around. Lowly citizens swept the glass scattered evenly across the ground into a pile so when it could be disposed at the right moment. The damage had been done, and he was pleased with the results, but nothing would take away the pain lurking inside as the world moved on like nothing had ever happened.
Swarms of peacekeeper filled the area marching in step holding their guns and whatever else they could grab a hold of. Panic rose through his body. His heart leaped inside his chest bouncing against the chest wall. All the blood fled his face leaving him a ghostly pale color. Hands shook at his side releasing the rocks he was holding onto crashing into the ground. Turning as quick as he could, Kraygon took off running away from the growing number of monsters. Shouts rang out behind him ordering him on the ground because he was only making it worse on himself. Why he was running, Kraygon didn't know. Running from those in charge of the death of his cousin, those who laughed as she fell to the ground, laughed as her cannon sounded through the air signaling the death of someone he cared for since birth. Someone who understood the fears lurking inside his veins when Evelyn threw a tantrum. Esme understood him, and now she was dead. Her life ended the moment her name was called for the reaping, and now was his chance to make the peacekeepers pay for everything they had ever done. He didn't care about the den of lions waiting to devour him. Let them kill him. Let them take his life away, but first they would pay. Every last one of them would pay.
He stopped dead in his tracks before turning around to face the oncoming herd of peacekeepers moving towards him at a rapid pace. Fire danced before his eyes fueling the anger slowly growing inside him. Planting one foot hard on the ground, he lunged forward as fast as he could sprinting at a pace he never dreamed possible. An animal like sound erupted from his lips as he moved towards the arms waiting to capture him and possibly end his life. The end of his life didn't matter. Nothing mattered as he moved forward only caring about one thing - someone would pay. Shots rang out as he got closer to them. A white fire danced through his arm as a bullet pierced the skin. Blood pooled under his jacket. A finger pointed at the peacekeepers standing before him, but the pain resting inside his arm didn't stop him. Nothing would stop a bomb from exploding unless it was deactivated at the last possible second. "FUCK YOU!" He shouted at the top of his lungs as more shots rang out. The fire burnt through his skin, and he was falling arms spread wide towards the ground. Rocks bit deep into his skin as pain completely shot through his body. "You are a stupid one." Something hit him hard in the head, and the world went black.
The moment his eyes flickered open Kraygon knew something was wrong. His chest rose and fall with each breath he took. Blood surged through his body as his heart beat steadily behind his chest. A vehicle screeched to a halt and within seconds the peacekeepers dragged him out throwing him on the ground before quickly ordering him to his feet. A tiny building stood before him as he fought trying to get to his feet, but with his hands shackled behind him the request wasn't easy. "GET UP!" Kraygon pressed a shackled hand against the ground as the peacekeeper jerked him the rest of the way to his feet. "MOVE!" He shouted again. Kraygon turned his head towards him as a boot hit him hard in the small of the back forcing him forward. Blood ran down his arm from the hole the bastard placed there without any regret. "Don't fucking tell me what to do." Kraygon hissed as he moved forward teeth bared prepared to strike.
"You lost that right the moment you destroyed the district square." The peacekeeper chuckled behind the mask hiding his face. Dragging Kraygon forward, the peacekeeper laughed the entire time taunting him over the death of his cousin. His blood boiled inside his veins. His heart pounded harder inside his chest as he fought with everything inside for a sense of calm, but no peace was found. Keys jingled opening the barred door in front of him. A foot hit him hard into the back sending him forward. "GO FUCK YOURSELF!" He shouted at the top of his lungs as the peacekeeper slammed the door behind him. "EVERY FUCKING ONE OF YOU SHOULD GO FUCKING DIE!" But the screams were no use because they were gone leaving him behind.
He inhaled sharply as he moved around taking in his new living quarters until a death was placed upon his shoulders. Two metal shelves rested on the wall. Kraygon only assumed those were the beds the Capitol gave them. Two metal bowls connected to the wall. One was a toilet obviously, and the other looked like a sink.
This place was disgusting, but he didn't care.
Kraygon was one step closer to his goal.
Someone would pay.
And it wouldn't be him.
