Trinity is definately not an everyday visitor. I'd say right now that I would love to have Gala come over or someone that I want to see my daughter as apposed to someone who is here only for glory or gloating in front of her brother. I'm still weary when she starts baby talking to my daughter, and messing with her feet. Mira doesn't know what to make of it since she's pretty much just still getting used to life. Her eyes look over at Trinity cross-eyed and makes a few grunting noises as Matthew suddenly looks at me for some reason.
"Do you want to hold her? Be careful. Precious load." My eyebrows arch upward. I wonder why he's letting her hold Mira when only moments ago she told me to chill. I'm no where near calm around her, but outwardly, I force a smile upon my lips and watch as Matthew hands Mira over to Trinity. My baby. My three day old baby is being placed in the hands of his sister. I gulp in a mouthful of air and release it slowly.
"Be careful with her head. Don't let her head flop around..." I try to tell her, worried that Mira might move around too much or something but Trinity looks over at me with a sarcastic grin.
"Kyanite, I've had a baby before. I know how to hold her." She shakes her head just a little bit and cuddles Mira up to her chest, keeping her body elongated across her arm and using her other hand to rub her hand against her soft head. "Her hair is so soft. Hi baby girl."
I stand there for a moment and fold my arms up as I watch her with my daughter. "CAn you sit while you hold her, please?" I ask her and get paranoid. What if she trips with her? What if she starts to go off into another room with her? My motherly instincts are weighing me down harshly at this moment as Trinity shakes her head and moves to the chair behind her and sits down easily with Mira and a breath of relief is expelled from my lungs.
"So, how long you two been together?" She questions for unknown reasons and I look to Matthew and then to her. I guess she's wanting to know more about us. Fighting the great debate, I guess we can't really keep things from her if we're trying to mend it.
"About a year and a half." Which is about right. The months that I was pregnant plus the ones before hand and the pregames. Can we really be going on two years soon? How odd! "But yeah, we met right before the pregames."
That brings up another moment of shame. I was a career that she had seen in the games and how I fought so hard to try to win. Does she think I'm not suitable to be a mother? "Hey Trinity. Did you ever think about doing the pregames when you were younger? Or did you plan on doing something else in your life. Career wise?" Makes me wonder about what there is after a career life. What she does might be of interest for myself and Mira's life. "What kind of job do you have now or are you a stay at home mom?"
I ask this question because unlike the other districts, we are some of the more well off and dont have to struggle as much as others. Mira stretches in her arms and grunts while her face turns red and then turns back to a normal color as Trinity scrunches her nose. "I think someone did something." She grins a little and looks to Matthew. "Here Baby brother. YOu're on diaper duty, aren't you?"
