The worm falls. Disgusting creature writing at my feet and disgust is a familiar emotion. My eyes lock upon the carcass, blood seeping from the wounds I helped inflict. It's an odd sensation, crawling up my throat like bile and I can smell the fear hung heavy in the air. I'm broken. I feel none of it. I simply stare at the carcass with eyes narrowed and fingers wrapped around my weapon.

We're all broken. A monster strikes Andy, tearing into his skin and I feel something then. A vague flickering of something in the pit of my stomach and I stare at his wound like I stared at Akira's. I want to protect them- I just don't think I know how. Throw my body in front of the blows? But I want to survive.

Death sticks to my skin and we know we are doomed. Reaper's breath crawling down my spine- cold as frost and it is becoming hard to move. Volkner smiles, we both don't feel the same. Raised different with wires crossed and there are so many reasons that I didn't realize we were wrong. We're fighting for our lives and all I do is care about the small things beneath my heel.

"Breathe, Andy." Wound tight around himself I remember back home- when Sloane's fingers would lock around my wrist- bound by her past and I could not help. I simply sat and waited for it to pass but we haven't the time to carefully unwind him. Stick our fingers within the locks and hope that passing moments will heal gaping wounds.

We're dying, so we must do it all ourselves. "We need you."

I stagger, spear dripping with some sort of blood that definitely doesn't look anything like a human. It's thick and almost clear, more like slime. I catch my breath, sweat dripping off my forehead and falling to the floor.

"Breathe, Andy."

Bella.

I look up, locking eyes with her. She's got really calm eyes. She makes me think of Indy. Violet's older sister who maybe died but was my only friend for so long and then she was gone. Is she alive? I don't know. Maybe I never will. I probably won't. I'll never see her again, or Violet. I'm so fucking stupid, coming here.

I'm so fucking stupid.

"We need you."

No one's ever needed me in my whole life. It's a lie to make me feel better.

The worm flails at me again and this time I feel it slice my neck. I gasp, scrambling to the side, away from it and I feel a hand on my back, steadying me.

"We need you. Let's kill these fuckers and get on with our day!"
