There are rules.

There is a right and a wrong. There is no in between. Not now. Not ever.

But Maggie believes that the rules of life are not made for her. That there are no consequences. But Ryan knows that broken rules only lead to disappointment.

And sometimes death.

Too many times did she have to warn Father of her antics, but her punishments were only minor. If Ry placed one toe out of line, everything came crashing down. But Maggie always seemed to be still standing.

One day it will backfire.

One day she will face the consequences.

The brown paper bags were wrapped tightly in Ryan's grip as she headed towards home. They needed some food for dinner that night. The sky was clear, but in an instance it turned to gray. The explosion rang through her ears, but she didn't think about her hearing. Instead she started running to the one place she prayed it didn't hit.

But the one place she knew deep down it did.

The bags fell from her hands and the items they contained spilled to the ground. The fresh loaf of bread rolled in the dirt ruined. She could not tear her eyes from the disaster that stood in front of her.

The walls of their house had come crumbling down, a pile of rubble lay in it's wake.

And suddenly all the rules were forgotten.
