Nocte Jay
Seeing lifeless bodies petrifies him causing every muscle in his body to cease. This is the reality they're facing, and knowing what's coming makes everything even worse. Knowing that his time is coming, and that if he isn't careful everything will come crashing down around him. It's not what he wants, yet running away isn't an option either. The walls are closed, and even if he tried to climb out of the arena, he wouldn't succeed. The only way out is to live. The only way to make it back home is to somehow keep himself alive. He's not a fighter, but maybe staying away from these giant beasts will give him a better chance of survival. But how? How can he keep himself alive when everything is chaos? What can he do?
Nocte doesn't know the answer, and he doesn't know how to figure it out. Truth be told he doesn't want to. Getting close to anyone in this mess will only cause pain and suffering. Helping someone out won't do him any good. Right now the only thing that matters is being selfish and figuring out the best way for him. Nobody else can write his path. Sometimes he wants to help others and give them a chance - this isn't the time though. Lunar is back home, and he wants to read many stories to him, and tuck him to bed every night. Killing these creatures isn't going to do him any good especially if the tributes turn on each other throughout the course of the game. He tries keeping himself steady hoping to calm his uneasy mind. Nothing makes sense anymore.
His eyes lock onto the girl and someone else that's standing by her side. Maybe they have each other, and it only reiterates he's truly alone here. Nocte has no friends, and no matter how close he tries to get to someone it doesn't matter. Nobody else matters. Nobody needs to know him, and he simply takes a step away. This isn't his fight. The creature didn't hurt him. It didn't do anything, and his attempt to distract it to make a friendship wasn't worthwhile. It was a worthless attempt at figuring out how to find someone to stand with. Everyone else has someone, but right now he's alone.
He keeps his eyes open as he backs away slowly wondering where to even go. He's just invisible, trapped within the walls of the arena. Nobody will remember him. His name will be forgotten, and right now he doesn't even care. Whatever these tributes are doing is working, and maybe their names will whisper through the nights for many years to come, but what has he done? He's not a fighter. He's not helping anyone, and soon he's certain one of these ugly cats will feast on him. What kind of life is this? He didn't want it, but he has no choice. He turns back to the lady and looks at the other lady standing near her now. Maybe they'll get along. Maybe it's best if he just goes away. This isn't his fight, but he's certain that moment will come.
