Shy lashed out with his knife and Amelia hissed. “If you were going to stab me you should have used..” she grunted, taking a step back. “I changed my mind. You’re not hot anymore." A cannon fired before she could say anything else, and her head whipped around to see Zeus on the ground, a sheen of frost covering his face. She’d missed something. And Delroy was coming towards her.

“I had thought you would’ve wanted to start something with me. I didn’t think it would be against us.” Petulant of him, wasn’t it? Maybe, maybe if things had gone differently, she would have stood by his side. If she had attacked the psycho boy instead of trying to drink Delroy’s kool-aid and waste precious minutes trying to have a conversation with Shy instead of killing someone.

“I blew fairy dust at your friend there instead of eviscerating him," For all the good that had done. “Not that it mattered after a minute. No one listened to you.” He had the audacity to sound upset about the violence, upset that people wanted to live.  And why was it that no one had listened? Could it have been because his first reaction had been violence before anything else?

“Violence is an easy language. It’s a dog eat dog world, Roy. If you ain’t eating then you’re on the menu.” She paused for a moment, looking down at her weapon uncertainly. They were all part of the problem weren’t they? “I volunteered to save my sister. You think anyone’s gonna care about after?” But he had an answer for that too, that they had to think about the future or lose their grip on the present.

Because that made total sense.

And then there it was. He was accusing her of being selfish, of thinking only of herself. Ignoring that she was fighting alongside Yuki. That was Delroy, wasn’t it? Lofty words, but he was so far up on his high horse that he couldn’t feel the saddle jammed up his asshole. He was a hypocrite. For all the talking he done about the revolution, in spite of his great speech in the bloodbath, he admitted to killing someone the previous day.

He was never going to get people to listen to him now. Even a few of the gang leaders she knew of in nine had better discipline than him. Leaders led by example. You couldn’t preach one thing and spend your time doing the opposite. She thought of Rene again, and the quiet but fearful acceptance on his face when she killed him. The sound his body made when it hit the snow next to Marsh.

“Maybe nobody deserves a better tomorrow, man.” People were vicious, cruel and self-serving back home. The games thus far had taught her that people were alike all over. “Maybe we deserve the hell we make.” She cocked her head to the side, raising an eyebrow curiously. It was interesting that he thought to lecture her when he’d struck the boy from seven because of an insult and started the whole fight in the first place. Any chance of peace had crumbled the second he’d started it.

“But hypocrites like you know all about that, don’t you?”

It had the reaction she anticipated. He charged her with mounting rage. Good, she thought as she tried to sidestep him. Angry, unbalanced opponents were opponents that made mistakes. How many times had she admonished her sister for losing her cool in the middle of a fight? It made Audrey sloppy. His sword clipped her shoulder and she hissed, spinning away but keeping her footing.

“Touch a nerve there, did I?” she muttered under her breath, more to herself than to any of them. She straightened up and nodded to Yuki, keeping a wary eye on everyone else’s positions. Too many to keep track of. Too many within reach. Last time she let a boy take point. Both Marsh and him had gotten her into these messes, and she did not want to get into another one. Tomorrow, if they saw a tomorrow, she was going to stay in front. She almost told the other girl that she was sorry, but such words meant nothing. Actions were what mattered.

She struck silently.

"Don't worry about that, Yuki." Her club comes down and Yuki knew that if he didn't move quickly the words she had spoke could become the reality. "This is my chance." Hissing he throws his arm put, one of the icy spikes penetrating his hand. Grunting in pain he cradles it to his chest briefly before examining the bloody mess that she had left behind. Spots of blood splatter onto the snow, crystallising in the below freezing temperature.

A flash of movement at the corner of his eye and he see's the boy from two. "Am-" he is too slow, the boys knife slicing across her upper leg. Watch out. Amelia takes the hit with a grunt, moving a few steps out of the boys reach. Yuki moves to stand closer, his weapon raised at the girl from Eleven, covering her back.

It was strange, when he had first meet Amelia in the dinning hall, he would not have imagined himself to be here, in this position. Entering the arena he had had one person who he thought that he could trust, one person who had managed to see past his harsh stand off-is exterior. But along the way, without him even noticing, that one had turned to two... Which, yesterday, had returned to one. He wondered what Marsh might say right now, he knew that if the boy had been standing beside him that the sound of bones breaking would be rumbling through the arena.

The thought of Marsh caused a wave of rage to surge through him, the image of the knife protruding from his chest, of Blondie bending down to place a kiss on his forehead, the look she sent him as she walked away, flashed through his mind. He hoped that she did not die today, that he could run into her in the coming days, and send his spear into her beating heart. He would not miss. Not this time.

The sound of a canon fills the air and Yuki quickly examines the battlefield. To his right is a body, Fireboy slumped over on the snowy earth. He doesn't move. Dead. One more body to pave his path home.

He turns his gaze back to the girl from Eleven, "you missed, Miss Wedgie." He smirks, grip tightening on his spear. From the corner of his eye he see's Amelia move, her spear striking into miss Wedgies forearm. Yuki could tell by the way her movements slowed that she was starting to be effected by the loss of blood that was pooling beneath her.

"Looks like you are running out of chances," he hisses, licking his lips slightly as he enters his balances, preparing for attack. "I won't give you another."
