She is the largest of the Scorpione colony in the glass mountains. It is her territory, shared with the hulking Argus because he asked nicely. When she feels a disturbance in the earth - human feet stomping, creating vibrations that made her exoskeleton twitch - she crawls out of her burrow to investigate.

And there they were, four intruders. Four humans who had not asked nicely to explore the shimmering glass mountains.

Instincts may warn others to scatter, but Fiona is a fighter. She surges forward, roughly the size of a human head if not bigger, and leaps at the first trespasser she sees.

He cannot see himself, but he knows he is larger than the enemy. It hurts too much to open his eye, he knows that. He is tired. It will take energy to open it, so he must preserve it.

There is no calculation to his movements. He throws himself at the puny people, one hulking mass of hard flesh and one hulking mass of sharpened destruction.

That is why they named him Apocalypse.
