Thank the lord, Sofia's smitten the second she takes Piper into her own hands. He watches as she whispers to the puppy- her puppy, by the look of things. A good thing too - Lady's litter is going quick! Way quicker than he imagined which he takes as a good thing. By the time Lorenzo takes another look, there's four left and just as many people hovering.

Woof.

"You seem pretty busy," she says, and he knows where it's going. Hands full of puppy's and Izar's, Lorenzo shakes his head eagerly to Sofia. Truth be told, the crowd's got him a little nervous; mainly so, because he hasn't been able to greet the most of them, hasn't seen anyone greet a few of them. It's like a morning alarm ringing in his ear, just loud enough to keep him from peace of mind.

What's a guapo? "Yeah, I'd hate rushin' talking to you, Sofia!" His eyes are wide as he talks, ever excited with each word, "I'm hostin' a few events, but I'll be out at the bonfire most nights when you wanna catch up." He can't help but wonder where her mind's at, if he's reading into something that ain't quite there.

Something he'd want to be there, maybe.

Still, "see you around, pretty lady-" he waves to both her and Mateo quick enough to move on without getting called out for it. Bite the bullet, spit it out and move on. Lorenzo eyes up who's been standing there for a minute -- somethin' tells him this ain't Archibald's first rodeo, he ain't much worry; he waves to Mrs. Lovejoy's daughter on his way to the smaller redhead he saw at the beginning.

"Howdy!" Enzo starts, hikin' his jeans up before kneeling to eye level. A girl he ain't recognize from 10 at least, spotty freckles and thick ginger hair; umm, O'Malley maybe? He couldn't think of any 9's with ginger hair like that, and lord have mercy on the soul that wasn't prepared for the O'Malley kids. Enough's happened already for Enzo to put two and two together.

"Y'know, you two look thicker than thieves! Can I ask where your guardians are?"

Even just an older brother, Enzo knows better than to get picky with family in Panem.

When Lorenzo asked me to help out with some pet adoptions at the County Fair, I was hesitant at first. I know how kids are. I know that a lot of them don't know how to care for an animal. I also know that a lot of adults don't have the knowledge or commitment to take care of an animal, either.

I thought it over, though, and reconsidered. I raised these reptiles to be people's beloved pets, and what better way was there to match them with families than to bring them to a big event like this? I would just have to make sure that the people adopting them knew what they were getting into, and make sure that there was adult permission involved, of course.

When I arrived at the county fair with the lizards, I also had some care sheets in hand. They explained how to take care of the lizards.

Each of the reptiles was in a glass reptile tank enclosure by themselves (as they can get territorial) and I had their respective care sheets sitting on top of the tanks. As people came up to me, they would tell me which reptile they wanted, along with proof of adult permission, and I'd give them their care sheet and new little friend.

This was actually starting to get quite exciting to me.

"Hello everyone!" My voice rose above the crowd. "To follow up the adoption of our puppy friends, we have a couple of lizards up for adoption! You'll just need some adult permission and to take one of these care sheets with you for the animal you choose, and you'll be all set with your new little buddy!"

I had an excited and welcoming smile upon my face.

"Today we have a bearded dragon- no, he doesn't breathe fire- as well as a crested gecko and a leopard gecko!"

OOC Notes/Information:
Bearded Dragons are larger lizards in comparison to the other two being offered. They grow 16-24 inches and live to be about 10-15 years old. They have small, not-so-sharp claws on their feet instead of sticky pads that are more commonly associated with lizards.

Crested Geckos are much smaller than Bearded Dragons, as Crested Geckos are typically 5-8 inches in length. They typically live 5-10 years with proper care, and have sticky pads on their feet that allow them to climb better, including on smooth surfaces like the glass of their tanks!

Leopard Geckos typically grow 6-8 inches in length, and live about 10-20 years. They have tiny claws (don't worry, they're not very sharp!) and are typically the easiest to care for of these three types of lizards.

Of course, you're allowed to "personalize" your character's lizard, such as choosing how long they live and what they might look like exactly. I've linked pictures with the names of the lizards but they're just a jumping off point! Have fun with it! You can have an oversized lizard that lives for 20 years if you want to! It's completely up to you.

I was keeping an eye on my younger sister, Fly. She was thirteen now, so I know she should be allowed some independence. But, she's also only thirteen years old. She was still a child, barely a teenager. Besides, what are older brothers for other than looking out for their younger siblings? I noticed her over at the puppy booth and just wanted to make sure everything went well for her. If there were any fees, I wanted to be able to swoop in and give her some cash.

And sure enough, I was needed.

Not for money though, for paperwork. They wanted all of the kids to have an adult with them. It makes sense, it just screwed her over a little bit. My birthday was looming, but for now I was still seventeen. Not quite yet an adult, but no longer a child. I was stuck in this weird purgatory. Hopefully, I could convince the organiser otherwise.

I made my way over to the two of them, gently setting my hand on Fly's shoulder as I stood behind her. I didn't smile at the man, not with my mouth nor with my eyes. I wasn't happy, but I probably would be the second I pet her new puppy. I hated saying my name now. The word O'Malley had always had negative connotations back home. Now everywhere else in Panem it flashed memories of a scared fifteen year old getting stabbed in the neck. But, I knew I'd probably have to put it on the paperwork anyway.

"I'm Prop O'Malley, Fly is my little sister and I'm over eighteen. Actually, I just turned eighteen. Mind if I fill out the paperwork for her?"

Lying came naturally to me, guess I'm just lucky like that, aren't I?

I'm not a dog person, or a cat person really, got enough responsibility as it is shepharding Dad and Abuelo and Kate around. And I didn't come to Ten expecting to walk away with a pet, but everything happens for a reason and who am I to tempt fate, with my last name and all, when I walk past a stall meant for puppies and spot a lizard?

I'd never thought of a lizard as a pet. Kids at home have small livestock and chickens but moreso to keep their families alive, and I think of Cloud Brooks and her goats milk down at the market trading for coup eggs and loaves of bread. For some reason this spotted beauty catches my attention and I can't help but stare.

"Hello," I muse, peering at it's big old eyes and freckled back as it skuttles in its box. "A leopard gecko huh? You're pretty cool looking."

It blinks up at me and I just know he's meant to be my friend. Look to my left, right, I'm gonna have to find Dad. Convincing him won't be the hard part, it's finding him in this giant crowd. If I ask, 9 times out of 10 he says yes. Eleven years at the orphanage has some perks, the guilty kind I can work to my advantage.

"Excuse me?" I ask the girl behind the tressle table, pointing at the lizard that's captured my heart. "Can I put this little guy on hold? I gotta go find my Dad, but if I give you my name can I reserve him?"

As someone comes up to the lizards and I, I'm presented with a question. Can I put one of the lizards on hold? I give a smile in response.

"Of course! I can do that for you." I respond with excitement in my tone. I'm happy to see one of these lizards find a home. If I'm being totally honest, being an exotic pet breeder in District Ten doesn't really get you too far. Not that many people want lizards here. They want horses and cows and chickens... nothing that I can offer them.

The person who approached my stand seemed really intrigued by the lizards. She spoke to the Leopard Gecko and said that he was pretty cool looking, and it made me quite happy. I loved seeing people get excited about animals. I'd always loved animals, and finding them homes was one of my favorite things.

"What's your name, so that I can hold him for you until you come back?" I ask.
