walking in my sleep
like the naked trees
will they wake up again?
do they sleep? do they dream?
like the naked trees
will they wake up again?
do they sleep? do they dream?
In the blink of an eye it was gone.
Her home.
Her sisters.
Her life.
Half a second more and it was all over.
The fight.
The boy's life who laid in front of her.
She stared at the body, her eyes glued to the green tinted blood, the awkward angles his arms made on the bridge, but she would not allow her eyes to look at his face.
No, it was easier to kill someone if you didn't know who they were.
It is easier, right?
The other boy's footsteps echoed as he ran away. There did not need to be any more death today, at least not here. Eos made sure that the sound of boots was completely gone before looking up from the body. Her eyes locked with Elite's, she tried to judge his reaction but failed. This was supposed to be her kill, but she became too hasty. Her first shot was off only slightly, and out of anger she fired again, without taking the time to readjust. She went to reload her gun, but by the time she had finished the boy had fallen and Elite stood over the body.
A part of her wanted to be furious at him, he was supposed to be hers.
But secretly, a small part was thankful that she hadn't been the one.
How much blood could stain her clothes before she forgets who she is?
A smirk played on her lips as she eyed Leet. "That's two from that alliance, good thing there aren't anymore because your luck might have run out." An airy laugh escaped her lips, but not one part of this was funny. They were both running out of luck.
And time.
"Anything useful we can take?" she used the edge of her dress to try and scrub off some of the dried blood on her gun. There was a moment of silence, and finally she looked back up at Elite, a hint of desperation in her eyes. "I think we should wait here. Knowing Fayre she'll come back to this spot to look for us." She paused for a moment and let her gaze travel, as if she was searching for her. "You think she's okay, right?" It was nothing more than a whisper, but she needed to know.
She couldn't lose her.
Not like this.
All it takes is a single second.
Just one second for everything to change.
feel it as the wind
strokes my skin
i am moved by the chill
hear the winter bird sing
