There's a lot to think about while Sailor Shaw sticks hot wax up the left side of my nose. My eyebrows are still sore from the tweezers, and I'm just focused on making as little eye contact as possible -- should I say I'm sorry?
I've never been a model, I've always had bigger things to worry about than a beauty regiment. My hygiene is... alright? This is the part of the Hunger Games I never really took seriously before I got here, I forget I'm supposed to be attractive for this and I'm no Julian Le Roux, you know? Strangely, I feel naked having a professional looking over all my pores and split ends.
Feeling like shit just comes with the territory, I was ready to be a villain but ugly?
That hits a bit different. I'm flushed every time Sailor talks to me, stuttering for a response when she asks me "ready?"
"Oh, sur- FUCK!" my hand flying to my nose because I'm convinced she ripped the whole nostril out, "damn okay, I lied I was not ready. What happened to counting it down?!" That got me more than the eyebrows did but at least I'm not bleeding. Sailor's cleaning up the station as she prepares for the other nostril and I've got to mentally prep myself for this.
Makes me question if I really want an entire life time of this, but uhh.
Too late for that.
