Annie took a sip of water before writing a couple things on a piece of paper that she had taken with her. She had poured a lot of herself into this games, especially because this time, she had everything to lose. Nixie seemed like a nice girl, but Arc was Annie’s main priority. If anything, Annie was giving even more energy to both of her tributes. She never expected Arc, of all people to end up in the games, but it was finally her job to try to bring them home.
She was nervous as she wrote out lists of things that Arc probably needed to know while they were in the arena. She had been known to over prepare, but at the end of the day, Annie knew what it was like to be int here, and she had survived it. Long gone were the days where she would say she won it, because at the end of the day, she was not a winner. She was barely a survivor, and with a blink of an eye, she wasn’t even a murderer anymore.
Arc wouldn’t get that same luxury. None of them would.
The water tasted mute in her mouth until she felt a lingering presence around her. She does not have many friends around these parts anymore. The scar on her wrist was more than proof of how many people cared about her. She took too much out on herself, but that might have been because of her personality. She was a perfectionist, and she always felt like she had something to prove.
She lifted her glass to her lips, taking another sip before flipping over the paper. ”Arent Lions supposed to better at sneaking up at their prey?” Annie smirked as she looked back to Ridley Le Roux. She meant no harm in her words, but she couldn’t lie. She had been on edge. It had felt like ages since she had felt like she was actually present. She felt like she had been reborn anew. It was time for her to live again.
