During your third night in the Arena you hear a crackle from your walkie talkie. At first you think it's a message but nothing comes through just a brief snap of static. Then you hear a voice, quiet and muffled at first and then louder. They're screaming, they're crying. They're begging for help from you. It is not the voice of any of your fellow tributes but it's familiar to you. You hold the device listening to the screams and you realize. It's your loved ones back in the districts. Your parents, your little siblings, your friends. They're all crying for help through the radio.
The screaming will continue until morning when it finally falls silent at dawn.
