He doesn’t of course, but it doesn’t make me wish for it any less. A good career has to know the ins and outs of fine dining, and honestly its a good pairing. When this bird is dead, we are going to have to eat something. I mean, I got a package of something at the cornucopia but it probably tastes about as fake as the girl from nine’s eyebrows look.

But you know, there’s something to be said about Laurence. He found a car, which—yes. I’ll be riding in style. I’m not sure why he didn’t shoot the mutt instead of hitting it with the gun like he’s mentally deficient, but I guess he only had enough brain cells to procure a vehicle.

Gosh, procure. I’m like—a dictionary these days.

I’m down to my last javelin, which means I’m gonna have to start stabbing or be weaponless, but that would mean getting closer and I don’t really want to do that—

Except I can hear pounding on the ground, which is around the time that big bird gives me the mother of all hickeys.

At least, that’s how it sounded in my head. In my ears it sounds more like a muffled cry of rage as I clap a hand to the blood gushing out the side of my neck. I’m seething now. I am so, so over getting the shit kicked out of me before I get a chance to put the hurt on someone.

Look is it really bragging if you can back it up? One to nothing and if I was wearing a belt, I’d put a notch in it, right after I use it to tie Bastian to the nearest bed. He’s hot okay? I’m not denying that. And like—yeah sure, okay, maybe.

But then like—Laurence starts driving the jeep towards the mutt and actually rams it like he’s hotshit, y’know except for the part where the dinosaur doesn’t budge, catches the front of the car and roars so loud I think my ears just popped?

So I whip my head in Laurence’s direction and point with my bejeweled hand at the creature.

And in case district one has to do all the work, again, I get to my feet, ignoring the blood on the hood and aim to kill this thing while keeping my balance.
