Anthem - Day 3

The night air sticks to you like a second skin. It's nearly impossible to get comfortable on the hard ground especially with the bugs that wiggle beneath the dirt and the faint chirps from the land around you constantly signaling that you're not alone. Just as you fight to sleep the sky lights up and the anthem blares loud, echoing off of the invisible walls of the Arena to light up a single face.

The morning is even hotter than the night. You wake with sweat on your brow and heavy clouds pressing down against the Arena. There's hardly any sun but the heat is unrelenting. Your pack feels heavy as you trudge through the damp grass around your little themed cage. Your stomach rumbles, missing the rich food from the Capitol buffets. It's the third day, it's time to start separating the survivors from the weak.
