Sorry I haven't called, Duke & I have been stuck on campus trying to get everything done for orientation. They've held us up here this whole month, guess they thought we wouldn't come back but it's almost a done deal now. Oh, have you met Lysander Mae yet? The underclassmen at Marchand got pen pals, and her little brother is Duke's. The one that's gonna be on that dating show, you know the one.

I thought it was a coincidence that they were matched together, but Duke got some mail while we were on campus that I haven't let him open yet. It's some game show, I've never heard of it before, but I told him to wait until you're back before we read it. I don't know, it's been a good year but I'm still so skeptical. I figure you'll know the most about it, I don't want them fooling him somehow.

On the bright side, District 9's been pretty tame. I'm surprised, usually we're the ones on the shit end of Panem. Worst news I've got is one of the back windows were smashed by the time Duke & I got back, but I told the neighbors and they said they'd keep an eye out. Coming from an Adroxis, I won't be surprised if someone winds up shot.

I hope they have been good to you up there, Av. It's strange seeing the district be so proud for once, I know you hate it but you're doing such a good job. You keep it up in the Capitol and I'll make sure Duke & I get through this semester in one piece, alright?

I miss you too. Guess I forgot that even tho I won, I'd have to come back to this place. It's nice, like, there's cool shit to eat and things to see but I just get followed everywhere and people keep wanting to talk to me. I like Nine. It's a shithole, but it's our shithole and people there know when to fuck off. Here, people just talk at you and never shut up.

Haven't met Lysander, thinking that I probably won't. This is gonna come as a shocker but Billy I'm still shit at talking to people. Think I actually managed to piss of one of the only people that I sorta like, so there's that. Remember how when we were kids mom made us do the buddy system thing? I always thought that was for you and Duke but I think it was for me.

Whatever, time's almost up anyway and then I can come home.

Dunno about any game shows, I just know the castle one that Imo's on. Also don't watch it, people actually die on it. Don't want Duke seeing it if Imo kicks it.

Don't sign up for weird Capitolite shit, we don't need money anymore and all they're gonna do is unwind you until there's nothing left. Promise me you won't say yes to anything like Imo did okay? Dunno what she was even thinking. People keep asking me about her and I dunno what to say.

Stay focused on school okay? I get real proud when I read your teacher's notes home. They finally just started addressing them to me and it feels weird 'cause in school teachers looked down on me and now they talk at me so formal. Fucked up.
