when you tell the story,
let this be the ending

rewind time and treasure it;
let the sun have been real,
and let the love count for something

anything. everything.

and isn't it funny?
to think that reaching the horizon
might have been something to fear all along

impact. end. the ticking stops.

somewhere, a song is playing on the radio,
and children are laughing, living

the road is long,
miles stretch into forever;
it should have always been forever

/ but that's not here,
that's not this road.
