Hot Summer Nights | Ratmas day 1

"Shit man, tons to celebrate this year."

Cigarette smoke rises to the air as he breathes out, feeling the warm of his own breath clash with the cool air of the night. He holds it for a moment, twirling it in between his fingers before passing it over to Keegs, who takes it like it's the only thing his life depends on. "I mean, victor and all! Four's doing pretty well." 

Louie smirks as he pushes up from laying on the sand, a million and a half little particles pushing into his skin as he rises and brushes himself off. There'd been a buzz in the air ever since Nixie drove a sword through that idiot's heart and watched blood spill out the other side, since the crown was announced hers and Four was celebrated for yet another victory. "Yeah-" Keegs echoes as he rises, "perfect excuse to drink, yeah?" 

Louie's brow furrows, gaze dropping to the sand before glancing at his friend with a questioning look. "Wouldn't we... wouldn't we have drank anyways, even if she lost?" 

Keegs sits in a moment of silence, idiotic and blissful silence. "No comment." He blurts out, and Louie shakes his head as they make their way towards the lit bonfire and barbecue. River joins them halfway, sandals held in his fingertips and shit-eating grin dancing on his lips. "Alright gents-" He starts as they take their place at the back of the line, Louie's eyes watching as the flames dance in the distance and the smoke curls up into the moonlight. "What's the plan for tonight?" 

Louie's eyes drift from the fire as he focuses in on his friends, running a hand through sandy blonde hair and smiling. "Alright alright, we grab some grub and then meet down at the docks after this fiasco-" He motions to the fire, "-starts to wrap up." 

"Did you hide the bottles down there?" Keegs blurts out, too loud for their own good. "Yes, the bottles are stashed down in the rocks. And keep your fuckin' voice down, dude."

Keegs pulls a finger across his lips with a smirk, before pretending to lock his own voice up and turn the key. If only, Louie thinks.

"Anyways, we'll hang at the docks for a bit before the fun begins." He nearly cracks a grin as he finishes speaking, only stopping when he sees a pair of eyes focusing in on their conversation from behind them. "And you-" He points towards them as the group turns. "You didn't hear a thing." He runs a finger across his neck in a mock threat, arching an eyebrow before smirking.
