I think I'm a little bit revolutionary, really. I mean, sure, it's all been done before but nobody has been so unafraid to reference like this. Celebrity culture is all about taking things to the extreme and who I am, who I have become, is no different to that. I pride myself on my ability to transform into a creature made to be consumed by the masses.

Music, I can do it. Acting, I can do it. Presenting, I can do it. The past few years of my life have been dedicated to taking as many classes as I can to up my game and start making a name for myself. I must admit, I was a little shaken when my first booking was as a case opener on Money or No Money, but I was stupid for expecting everything to be handed to me on a silver plate.

I don't come from money or power. I'm not a product of nepotism or knowing the right people who can open the door for me. I've struggled, I've paid a shit ton of bills and broken my bank account multiple times in the process. Everyone starts somewhere: in the Capitol, for a lot of people, they already start in a position of power and it's a case of just building on that.

For me? Nope. None of it. If I had that privilege, I wouldn't have spent years of my life working as a financial advisor just so that I could have enough cash to bring my dream into reality.

I don't miss that job, not for a second. It was slightly better than serving milkshakes at that scuzzy diner on 54th Street, but dealing with such sheer entitlement from white man million and billionaires is way worse than someone complaining about a dirty spoon. I have the qualifications to be telling people how to handle their money and where is best to invest it, yet just because I'm a pretty girl, they don't believe me.

Sucks to be them because now I'm making more than they ever will.

I invested a couple thousand of my savings in stocks and shares, and the rest on myself. You can't put a price on beauty, especially in this industry, and pretty privilege is certainly something I had to buy my way into with a nose job and cheek fillers. I'm not particularly proud of it, I'm all about embracing natural beauty, but at the same time... a girl has to do what a girl has to do, and I'm not going to apologise for wanting the best for myself.

I quit my job on the Friday and by Monday, I had changed my face and changed my name. Daisy Lake had such a monotonous ring to it and it sounded like some sort of set from a kids movie, so I ditched it and followed a simple formula: one word, snappy and sure to turn a few heads. And so, Day was born.

Flew right out of the womb and into stardom because the very second I changed my Instaglam handle to @day, there was one particular celebrity who was piping up and giving me a platform.

Now, it's important to make this very clear. I'm the biggest fan of Bay that has ever lived. You name it, I've got it: t-shirts, mugs, coasters, signed pictures, socks, tree ornaments, nail art kits, phone cases, sunglasses, tampons - if her name is attached to anything, best believe I've purchased it. I consider my aesthetic and name as something she should consider flattering, I mean, I've publicly called her an inspiration in multiple outlets and I think that's something super nice to say about someone.

Apparently not to her, though, because not even a minute goes by before she's putting my name in her mouth to cling to the last piece of relevancy she has left. Honestly, I think if she'd have contacted me, we could've maximised a joint slay together but that'll never happen now. It's kinda sad, you know, I look up to her a lot and she's pretty much the epitome of the star I'd always wanted to become... but after this?

She made me realise I was so right to model myself after her. Drama attracts drama attracts news attracts fame. It's a recipe for success.

Deep down, I think I knew she'd kick off about it all. I mean, having a "tribute act" who is actually talented would naturally piss off anyone of sound mind. And all I've ever wanted to be was her friend, but since that's never going to happen, the next best thing is enemies.

It keeps me motivated. Because I know that no matter what I'm doing or what music I'm releasing or what stage I'm performing on, she's going to have something to say and we're both going to thrive off it. It's a pretty powerful thing to make someone mad just by living your life, but that's exactly what I have managed to do.

And it's perfect for this industry because it gives everyone something to talk about. My name in your mouth? I never saw it coming, honestly!!

I think people get so annoyed at my existence because I'm a product of all that has come before me. Pop culture has always lived inside of me and because of that, I have now become a part of it. And sure, it means dealing with the good, the bad and the ugly, but that's nothing a touch-up from Dr. Liz Angeles can't fix.

So, yeah. I'm proud of who I have become and don't see it as a bad thing. It's the Capitol, dammit, everyone is just doing what they have to do to survive. For some people, that is stealing a great idea and making it even better.

Combine that shamelessness with a little spinelessness and you're onto a winner.

I'm not sorry. This is showbiz, baby, lighten up!
