Ink-stained, ink-hearted, Antonio Maza is a boy who has been raised by books and literature. The first memory he had was of a story, and the first thing he recited were the words to a poem.

And ever since he could remember, he had always been enthralled by words, by allusions and metaphors, by enjambment and love letters. Enthralled by how humans were born to keep stories and retell them verbatim or with added magic, a miracle in how a story can be woven out of one fabric and quickly become another.

So every morning, at seven o’ clock sharp, he’s the library with his head buried in a book or researching on a subject. Nerd? Yes, in all sense of the word. But he is also co-captain of the debate team, president of the literature club, and yes, he does tutor others for some extra cash. Books are expensive, especially if they are hard covers. There’s also a routine in there for him that he enjoys: tutor others, earn money, and buy books. Nothing else. Simplicity rhymes with beauty for him. Antonio’s world is like the pages of a textbook: bound by a leather spine, and emphasizing on precision and perhaps, all too univocal.

He keeps the chaos, the dreams, and everything else within the confines of his own imagination.
