Victor Strauss was drunk.

He sat in his sister's office, imagining what it was going to feel like when it was his name engraved on the door. Just the thought had him grinning wildly, as he gave his drink a small swirl with one of his fingers. One of the ice blocks touched the tip of his finger and he hissed in annoyance, pulling it out and sucking on it gently as he picked up the mayor's phone, looking at the list of names carefully printed next to it.

He ran his finger along the list, taking a generous sip of his whiskey as his finger came to a stop of the family name Rhodes. Beside it, the name Harbinger was scribbled. Mind fuzzy, vision blurred, Victor carefully pressed the numbers on the phone's keypad that was an identical match to the victor's contact details. After a moment he picks up the receiver, listening to the phone's dial tone as he waited to be connected. He was sure someone would answer as it was 1 am in the morning, and this was the 5th time he had called the line.
