A T H E N A M A D A K I

I am a lioness, queen of my pride. I am fierce, I'll fight for what I want, what I deserve. And what do I deserve? Everything. My family breeds exotic cats, two known as sand cats and caracals. And no matter how many generations of them have been bred in captivity, there's still a wildness within them. And that wildness is within me too. I can be sweet of course, but I'm not one to mess with. I don't back down from a challenge. I've been clawed, bitten, attacked. Those mutts you see in the arena are nothing but house cats compared to me.

I always get what I want. I've had people call me a spoiled brat before, a princess. And my response? If you're going to call me a princess, you better start treating me like one too - chop chop. Our primary customers are Capitolites, they pay a large price for anything rare - anything they can show off. And our beautiful, exotic beasts are exactly what they're looking for. Of course, my family has expensive tastes. Recently we've started investing in energy too. After all, the key to staying wealthy is passive income.

I am loving towards those that deserve it. I love my family. And that includes every single one of the animals we breed. From the time they're born all the way through their training until they're ready to be sold, they're family. We keep in close contact with the Capitolites we sell the animals to. Due to their uniqueness if they have health issues we usually have the owner travel to Five or pay for my parents to go the Capitol to help the animal recover. We also can't afford for one of our cats to show up in some animal or mutt fighting ring.

That would just be horrible publicity, especially since we're already in a legal gray area.

I am the life of the party. I may not be as wealthy as those kids in One, Two, or the other upper districts, but I'm still wealthy enough to have a good fucking time. You always hear about kids from Twelve bitching about how they don't have food or whatever. I bet if they smoked some weed or had a jello shot they wouldn't be whining so much. I'm here to look good and have a fun time, and I'm excelling in both areas. Guess I'm just perfect like that!

I am strong. I work out, I go to the gym. I'm not a career by any means, I don't have aspirations of being beat to a bloody mess on national TV. But I also don't need to get pushed around at home either. If I hear some bitch talking shit, I'm ready to tell them to put their money where their mouth is. Slam them against a locker, rip out those ugly ass extensions if I need to to get the point across. Of course, I'm still a sweetheart as long as you aren't a two-faced bitch, yes I'm talking about you Susan.

I am beautiful. I hate this idea that women being beautiful or confident has to be a bad thing. If a woman knows she's beautiful she's stuck-up or vain. I don't believe I am flawless. I am beautiful because of my flaws. So what if I have scars when Empress, my favourite caracal, plays a bit too roughly? Just shows I'm a tough motherfucker. So what if you don't like my nails being a bit pointy and long? Those are just my claws. And so what if you don't like my hair? Sorry I'm not half bolding at age 16, Joshua.

I am fucking talkative. I'm talkative because I have something to say. I have a voice and I am ready for the world to hear me scream and hear me shout. I don't take kindly to being dismissed or overlooked. If you choose not to hear me, I'll make you hear me. I don't care if it pisses you off, your emotions aren't my problem. But I will make my voice your problem. Of course, I can also be a bit of a gossip. That's just for fun though. Who has ever been hurt by a bit of harmless gossip? Other than Susan, but we've been over this. She's a backstabbing bitch.

I am myself. That's exactly it, I am myself. I don't hide or fake who I am, Susan. I won't cheat on you with your best friend, Joshua. Maybe I'm a vain gossip with anger issues. So fucking what. At least I have the courage to admit it. At least I have the confidence not to hide myself. Because when you fake who you are, the truth always comes out. Year after year we see these tributes on TV put on their little masks. But when death stares them in the face, it all crumbles.

But with me? What you see is what you get. And what I see in the mirror is looking pretty damn good to me.
