I tire of watching the Hunger Games year after year.

Not because of the death or the bloodshed. Rather because of all the traitors. The Games being live means they have trouble cutting out when needed. And every year traitors are given platforms to send their disgusting, treasonous messages across Panem. Luckily, they seem to get what they deserve in the end.

Of course I support the Capitol.

My mother actually works to develop technology they use in the Hunger Games. I don't know what exactly, that's classified, but I know she designs technology for both the Hunger Games and for Peacekeepers. Eventually I want to follow in her footsteps. I want to design mutated plants and animals for the Hunger Games and to serve the Capitol as a whole. Pay them back.

The Capitol protects us, they keep anarchy from taking place. They keep us all fed, and secure. If 23 lives a year is the price to prevent lawlessness and chaos then so be it. Think about how much worse everything without it. People would be starving. There would be murders in the streets.

Maybe these opinions aren't popular, but I'm right.

I know that I'm right. If I was reaped? It would be an honour. It would be an honour to fight for glory for my district. It would be an honour to uphold the traditions that keep the rebels at bay. I'd want nothing more than that. But, that doesn't look like it's happening any time soon regardless. So I don't need to worry much.

I do research into the Hunger Games, specifically the plants. It's interesting to look at them. Many are plants that simply exist, ones that are found in nature. But some are genetically modified. Isn't it convenient that medicinal plants can be found in barren wastelands? That's because they've been genetically modified to survive in those environments.

And then the mutts themselves. A lot of them existed prior to the Hunger Games to serve other purposes. Yet they're so deadly. What would happen if they started bringing some of those mutts into the districts? Get them a handler and use them to scare potential traitors into submission. Remind them who's in charge around here.

Genetics in general fascinate me.

The genetics of the plants in the Arena, the mutts, the tributes themselves. You hear tributes talk about how their entire family hates the Capitol. I can't help but wonder if that's nurture or nature. If there's a way we could fix those seditious thoughts. Or if we could enhance human beings like we do animals. Imagine the military strength we could have if we could give humans the strength of a dart jaguar.

I hope one day I'll be able to serve the Capitol and test some of these theories. For now though, I'm still in school. I don't speak about my future plans a lot though, don't want the traitors to try to wipe me out now. Most people seem to think I'm friendly, if not a bit quiet. And I am friendly. I just don't believe traitors should be shown mercy.
