You grew up with a shattered family. You were a child of your mother's second marriage, which fell through just like the first. Now she was going on her third, no matter how much you advised her not to. Your brother (who was from your mother's first marriage) moved out before you were born. He was much older than you, and never seemed to pay much attention to your existence. You felt alone. Very alone. As if the world didn't even realize you existed. Your own mother didn't even really set rules for you. You supposed that was the only good part of all of this; being able to do whatever you wanted to.
Some days, you wished she would just pay the slightest bit of attention to you, though.
Other days, you just feel like disappearing. Would she even notice?
