I really like that I can help Sergio out.

Things are hard for him and his brother, so I do what I can to help. I bring them medicine and food and anything else I can whenever I can. It's easy to do, my parents don't notice me much. My mom just drinks a lot and Dad... Dad runs his business out of his house. The business with the scary looking people dropping off envelopes full of cash. The business where he'll lock me in my room for a few hours while he works. The business I'm not allowed to talk about at school. I don't know what it is, I don't think I want to know though.

It can be hard sometimes. It seems like the only times my parents have time for me is when they're using me as a weapon. Mom spends all day drinking and Dad tells me to stay out of his stuff. But when it comes to custody? That's all they seem to talk about. Dad was late bringing me over to Moms house that week. Or since Mom was sending me back to Dads for a couple weeks she was going to take me shopping first, but I had to agree to tell Dad how much I liked my new clothes. I wish they'd get along.

And I wish I had someone to talk to this about with. I care about Sergio a lot, of course I trust him. I feel like he's the only one I could trust with all of this. But he doesn't need to hear it, he doesn't need to worry. He has a lot harder of a life than me. I have no room to complain to him. The rare moments we have together I want to spend helping him, not adding even more to his stress. I want to help people. And I want to make them smile and laugh. But, who's there to help me? Who is going to make me smile?
