Mayfair Smith // District 10 WIP

    Appearance : Her long, silky soft, auburn-colored hair is done in a style called a braided waterfall and her hair falls down her back just like a waterfall and the small braids around the top usually have little flowers in them, and you could run your hand through her hair and your hand wouldn't  get even the tiniest bit stuck. She has a smallish face that makes people think that she's younger, which angers her. Her nose is in the center of her face and is kind of small. She has somewhat high eyebrows that sometimes make her look like she's asking a question. She has eyes that are an smallish size and are a light shade of brown that have a surprisingly curious look in them, though her pupils look like the dark night sky and rumor has it that when you look into her dark pupils, you can see the stars or constellations in the night sky.  
 She is average in height though she is usually smaller than her peers. She is skinny because she isn't fed much. She usually wears a warm sweater and comfortable trousers that sometimes have a soft fabric on the inside. She walks gracefully and elegantly to make you think that she's rich. She also has brilliant manners and never speaks out of turn. 
    Personality : If you ran into her somewhere she would greet you by saying "Greetings" and would most likely move on, and would start imagining . She is mostly shy, obedient, extremely docile, submissive, and uncomfortable around some people.  She has been properly "brainwashed" by the Capitol and has been taught that the districts should never try to rebel against the Capitol. If she meet a new person she would likely take a little while to answer some questions, since she most likely would be daydreaming about her life if she had done something different some time or another. Acts a lot like a mouse in the way she hides from the world.
    History : Mayfair was born to the still-married and down-to-earth couple Liesa Smith (mother) and John Smith (father). Liesa owns a bakery in the town square that is connected to their two-story cobblestone home. John is a lucky miner that doesn't have a very long shift so he spends much of his time either at home with his family or helping his wife in her bakery and usually has barely any coal dust on him.  They met when they were both 20 yrs old and it was the day of the reaping and John was in the bakery (at that point it was owned by Liesa's parents) and he was buying something special for his family since it was the reaping. Liesa was at the counter and when the two young adults eyes met, it was love. Not much happened throughout Mayfair's early life besides her mother teaching her how to bake. When she began school she wasn't very popular, and she still isn't, but she was great with history. She currently is at ease since the most recent Reaping is over and she wasn't a tribute.

  ~...my first reaping is over...but the nightmare isn't...~

                                                                       "Hey. Wake up, kid!" ... "Kid, wake up! You're going to get me into big trouble!"
    "Huh, who are you? And where am I?"           "Hey, I ask the questions not you! So, what do you know about this man, John Smith?"

    "Father..."                                                                      "Speak up kid!"

    "John...Smith...?"                                        "Yeah, that's what I said. So, what do you know about him? I heard from someone that you know much about him. Is that true?"

    "John Smith... he's my father."

~Light shines so I can barely see~                    "I'm junior Peacekeeper, Gale Smith of District 10."

    "But where am I? And why do you want to know about my father?"  "You're in the District 10 Peacekeeper station. And your father...he's dead."

    "What..but what about mother? Where is she, and how does she feel? And why is he dead? What happened?"                                                     "Your mother is also...dead. We're investigating their deaths, but we found them in a back alley of some road. No blood though, that's the weird part."

    "But then...who will take care of me? I know I can't live alone until I'm eighteen, and that's seven years from now."                                            "I will explain everything in a second, just follow me."
The light turns on and I blink, letting my eyes adjust to the bright light flooding into the room. I look at the Peacekeeper by the door and notice the dark circles under his eyes and that he's young for a Peacekeeper. "Uh, Gale, where are we going?" I ask him as he looks back at me. "Just follow me, I don't need to get into anymore trouble right now." He replies and pulls me into the lobby.  A few faces turn at the sight of me but then they turn back to their own business. Gale bends down and makes me look at him. "You have no family besides me, Mayfair. I'm your older brother and you need to trust me. We're both orphans. I'm 20, so you're going to be living with me. They let me resign from my position with respect and I'm going to be running a farm on the land that I own. You're going to work there with me and you won't go to school. I'll teach you everything I know and then you'll help me work. Just come with me and I'll take you home." He said to me and hugged me and then walked me out the door. "What do you do on the farm?" I ask him as I walk into his house, warm from the fireplace burning brightly with warm heat in the cold storm. "I breed and raise assorted animals. But you need to get to bed, it's almost midnight. Here's your room, I took your stuff from your old room and took it here, along with all the other stuff there at our parents' house. But here, so get to bed. Goodnight." He says and then leads me into my new room. Then he shuts off the light and closes the door.
