His first meeting had gone pretty much exactly how he'd anticipated, and by the time Saber left, Hades was feeling a sense of relief. Every small little aspect of an arena added up to a whole, and he knew it was important to make all of it as perfect as possible, but he hadn't realized how immense the weight on his shoulders was to get the mutts right again until the aftermath, until he no longer felt the worry. Well, at least the worry was significantly lessened.
He still had about ten minutes to spare and hadn't had lunch, so he got Cinder to order him a bagel from downstairs, and he was still in the process of eating in when Dolores the receptionist was knocking on the door with his next potential junior.
He could remember seeing Hendrix on his television when he was a little boy, a well-decorated and outstandingly seasoned reporter for Fen Ent, when it came to needing someone to gauge public interest, he knew who his best bet was. Hendrix had the ability to reach within and find truth. A need to seek the truth. That's what landed Hendrix in the seat across from a gamemaker. Well, that and the fact the fact that they were one of the only reporters who hadn't mentioned the, ah, less-than-perfect relationship timelines between Hades and Beatrix and Hades and Astrid.
"I need a junior who can help me with storyline. Someone to dig into tributes' pasts once they're reaped. Someone to find their weaknesses, their strengths, their fears, their darkest secrets, everything. And I need someone to gauge public interest in them so I don't waste my time getting a victor no one wants."
And then, the kicker:
"If you do well enough, you have my word that I'll look into letting you conduct the top eight family interviews."
A fair enough promise, and one that he intended to keep. Though, he had no way of knowing whether Antoinette or Hale would have anything to say on the matter. But, regardless, the promise demanded excellent performance before a reward. He folded his fingers together and waited for her response.
