Tempest sands do not settle easily, dying out and picking up again in sudden bursts throughout the night. The eerie silence of each sporadic calm is filled with distrust, the streets empty as buildings assess their weary bones with slow, aching creaks and groans. Another unforgiving gust whips through town, turning crooked alleyways into wind tunnels and toppling a streetlight that had already bent itself much too far. The junkwall itself cries out in anguish as the wind whistles through scattered holes where pieces of its armor fell free during the storm, littering the ground with fresh debris.
It’s too much. The junkwall’s complaints are many and easy days are few. No one has come to patch its wounds and it has no arms with which to hold itself together. Torn open by godhands of wind, its own weight becomes too great for weakened support beams to bear and massive sections begin crashing to the earth. Here a vertical school bus bolted to a small stack of shipping containers topples over; there a prison tower badly reinforced with a rust eaten dumpster, three dozen hubcaps, and a patchwork of iron radiators collapses inward. Stacks of crushed cars and refrigerators fall off of one another as a particularly important structural beam gives out. Like dominos, each dropping piece seems to take another down with it.
Buildings quake from both the crashing of the wall and the realization that this is no longer a stronghold. Every day there is less to protect them; every day there is less to protect. The sandstorm is at war with little else but time. Bit by bit the dust begins to settle until only a dry fog remains.
no death AGAIN :C
The Anthem is an empty void and you realize with more dread than joy… 21 still remain.
Congrats on surviving Day Three!
Half of the Junkwall has fallen and tributes may now move directly from the Den, Junktown Proper, and the Overgrown Gardens to the Badlands (and vice versa) without stopping at the Junkwall between. The Junkwall remains an accessible area. Arena movement has been updated to reflect this.
