He sat for what felt like hours reading through the book left behind by the beautiful butterfly. Every once and a while he rolled the dice trying to figure out what exactly this thing is. It's nothing he's ever seen before, yet Canvas is fascinated by it all and wants to learn more. Maybe if something like this exist back home, he'd find a reason to spend less time drawing and more time hanging out with family.
Family is complicated it seems.
But now he's on his feet again roaming through the underground oasis wondering what he'll find next.
The childish glow never fades even as he leans against the tree. His eyes catch the mutts from afar, and the only thing he can think about is how wonderful a good night of rest will feel before venturing into the nightmare once more. Each day is precious, and with the lack of deaths, Canvas knows a storm is brewing, and it's growing quicker and spreading faster, and soon it will consume them. For now, taking it one day at a time is incredibly important.
His eyes shut for a moment. It's enjoyable stretching out in the sand without a care in the world, and it doesn't take long for him to drift away into a much needed slumber.
Yet when he opens his eyes, various plants are resting next to him as these tiny little creatures slowly venture away. They're adorable, and maybe he should follow them to see where they go, but for now staying in place and resting is all he can do. He looks through them finding a couple of edible and a bundle of medicinal.
Part of him wants to keep them for himself, yet he knows Sven may need some. They've had each other's back for the last few days, and it's only a matter of time before they must turn on one another. Hopefully that never has to happen. A friend is a friend until they're the enemy, and that's all these games are.
Canvas takes another deep breath before standing up and walking again this time grabbing a dreamtime spore. It doesn't look harmful, and maybe it'll give him a chance to really have a nice, relaxing night. He pops it into his mouth and then lays back down against the tree he was at before.
Making it home is important, but right now it feels impossible. So many are left alive, and it's only a matter of time before the storm crashes down and everyone stumbles around.
