There will be an arrest.
We cannot let the districters think that they can get away with such a crime.
They have begun to think that we are weak. As though the death of Snow has given them a new sense on where they sit in the hierarchy. You can feel it walking through the streets of Eleven, in the subways of Six – the way they dare to even look me in the eyes. As though they aren’t the scum born to till our fields and shine our shoes. That their way of life could ever hope to approach our own is treasonous.
But here we are – with mayors speaking of unity and clamoring for more – did they not expect that there would be resistance? That their unfulfilled promises could lead to violence? That there are people in these districts that know nothing but hatred and viciousness. Of course she is dead. She had promised them a new world that she could never hope to bring, and someone – or someones, because they never do anything on their own – decided that they would seize power.
If we aren’t careful, they will get the idea that such a thing can be done to all of us. Even when we could’ve been untouchable.
I will find who is responsible, and they will know what it means to be guilty. They will wish they had never so much as uttered a word against our way of life. They will beg for a time when they could return to their pathetic little life. No, their fate will be worse that some simple torture in the detention center.
I’m excited just thinking about it.
And if we cannot prove without a doubt?
My friend, that’s the funny thing about doubt. When I have made up my mind, none of it remains.
And so we will root out this evil and make an example of them. Just watch.Plot DetailsWith the assassination of the Mayor of District Six, the Capitol has dispatched their special investigative peacekeeper unit (the Eleventh Battalion) to find, convict, and make an example out of the traitor(s) in their midst.
Lieutenant Harlow Basra is at the helm of the investigation. A thorough, intelligent, and sadistic peacekeeper that wishes to draw up a guilty conviction one way or another. He will interview possible suspects for their motives, draw up evidence against them, and then move to convict as he sees fit.
Those interested in being interviewed by Harlow can indicate their interest by completing the following. Please be sure to indicate if you are open to indictment and conviction.
Additionally, a trial may be held in order to determine a person(s) guilt and sentence. A number of jury members may be selected to help render a verdict. Ultimately, Harlow will cast the deciding (only real) vote.
Those convicted of this crime may be sentenced to time in the Detention Center, along with other public and private humiliations*.
