Applications for Junior Gamemakers for the 7th Retro Games are now open! This is open to ALL members and there is no requirement to be site staff.
The main role of a Junior GM is planning and writing up descriptions for the Arena, non-damage REs, uniforms, half-time show, etc. All of the fun stuff!
Junior GMs will not be involved in approving character bios for overall lore continuity, rule enforcement, or making other technical decisions that require staff-level moderation. They do not need to have detailed knowledge of past Retro Games and their tributes. They will not impact an individual tribute's odds of victory. These things will still be the sole responsibility of the 7th Retro managers (Lalia and Arrows) and the site admins.
The primary development focus for the 7th Games will be the creation of the IC Gamemaker position, the development of how that comes about, and the impact it has on the Games. Bios will need to be approved by Lalia. IC the GMs of the 7th Games will be very different from their modern counterparts, as the Gamemaker title hasn't existed before and the position itself will be new to public knowledge. This will evolve over time, but for now it will not be a highly publicized position and it will not yet command much infamy or respect. (Please also note: Retro staff characters may change jobs or be promoted over time, so GMs may become trainers, mutt handlers may become GMs, etc.)APPLY TO BE A JUNIOR GM HERE.
Applications will close on Sunday morning, May 8th and the Junior GMs will be announced that same day.
Your GM partner will be the incredible Cait! Please note that her timezone is AEST and she works full time Monday through Friday. Her primary free time is 8-11PM and the weekends. (Arrows and Lalia will also be available to help with anything the GMs need behind the scenes.)
A separate interest form will be posted for GMing future Retro games. Future GMs will be matched up by shared interest in development concepts (examples: the creation of the TC, stylists, careers, Opening Ceremonies, disaster plots, etc).
