Personality: istj; manu is able to compartmentalize things quickly but can appear to dissociate when his head and heart are conflicted. in some ways, manu has accepted and become resigned to the idea that his life has minimal individual purpose. he expresses his negative emotions through aggression, thinking that might be the only way to escape it.

History: before he was an albañil, manu was a rendon.his family members were active participants in the rebellion and, at age seven, eventually killed in a residential attack by the capitol. his mother, father, and brother were killed, leaving just him and his sibling, judit. manu was then taken away from judit and held in safe quarters by capitol soldiers.

a few weeks later, he was taken to a family unknown to him and told that it would be his new family. this new family participated in a youth reassignment project in which the orphaned children of district two (and potentially other districts) were reassigned to capitol-friendly homes to rehabilitate them to become loyal to the capitol.

with his new family, manu was subjected to pro-capitol propaganda through re-education to remove any potentially lingering rebellious attitudes. while he accepted these ideas and ideologies, he's become a confused and conflicted soul. many memories, such as his own last name and what his family looked like has been forgotten in the nine years since he was torn away from them.
