"HELLOOOO? Isn't somebody supposed to be talking to me!?" 'Jesus Christ, these goddamn socialities-' Pascal wears his funeral rites, deconstructed camo scraps pinned together by yours truly, 'god, if only they gave me something other than military beige.' A fashion crime against humanity, really. He talks to himself in the loud silence, no one talks to him. No one ever did, not since he got reaped. His brother was the only person with the guts to do so - it all happened so quick, he figured they forgot he wasn't dead already.
And so here he is, with all the other young socialities, living the queer life he always thought he deserved anyways. There's something fashion about how cruel the whole thing is -- he's in an immense pain, as you can imagine, but the corset under-wiring is all he can focus on. Die beautifully is the only thing on his mind, not the face, go for the heart. 'Oh no, no, no' he says, taking his way over to Genevieve, the wretched female from eight who just so happens to be his district partner, and she's getting interviewed. Not only that, but she's getting interviewed by one of the most extravagant Capitolites in the room, which is a trophy he can't quite give up.
So, he barges in.
"AHEM bitches-" he bumps into Genevieve at the hip, pushing her out the way and him into it.[ pascal gaultier meets saunder crowe ]
"And... what is your name?"
"Pascal Gaultier," he says, blowing a kiss afterwards.
"Ah yes, I read your brief. District 8 male?"
"Yes! And you... Saunder Crowe? I read the digest."
"In the magazine?"
"Oh don't be so silly, the newspaper. I keep up with fashion, so naturally I keep up with names."
"Well, that's certainly a first from a tribute. Tell me, what is the fashion scene like in 8?"
"Drab. Terribly so, my brother and I hope to change the scene entirely when I get back home."
"Your brother?"
"Guillaume Gaultier. Jot that name down while you're at it, I'm sure you'll hear from us again."
"Well that's quite lovely, you seem very driven and..." he trails off, distracted by the strange model posing of Pascal.
"...And...!" Pascal says, "like the top? I cut up Ginny's jacket to make the fringe."
"So, how are you and your district partner? Anything spicy happen on the train?"
"The most interesting thing about her is her name, are you kidding? Absolutely no character whatsoever-""I'm still right here."
"Moving on, aren't you going to ask my game plan or something?"
"You mean, regarding The Hunger Games?"
"Literally that."
"And what is your plan, Mister Gaultier?"
"To be unforgettable, and drop dead gorgeous!"
"So, you must mingle with all the high up's?"
"And why do you ask, Gaultier."
"I over heard the brunet there saying he shared his carriage with Adder Ames. What do you know about the victors."
"The victors are not who you should be concerned with. Adder, Terra, and the rest are not much different than the tributes. You're all districters, after all."
"Clearly, I am not like the other tributes, and neither are they if they won. What can you tell me about Terra Montague."
"Nothing."
"Do you work with the victors outside of the Capitol?"
"Sometimes."
"Can you get me 5-minutes with Terra Montague?"
"Why would I do that?"
"It isn't fair that I do not have a mentor, but other districts do. I know what questions to ask I just need a- a minute! God, I'm going to die in there if I don't get help-"
"-and again, why am I involved?"
"Because if I live, I will repay that one minute however I can to you, and you know the victors are something special."
"...there is nothing I can do..."
