In Retro Games, we prioritize narrative over all else, yet in a purely dice-based system, it can sometimes be difficult to ensure that the rolls we're getting match the storyline that we've set out for ourselves. So for those of you who do not wish to make it past round one yet find your tribute stubbornly hard to kill, or for those who wish to tempt the fates and take some extra damage in the name of realism, this is an opportunity for you!
The specific details of the damage received are up to user interpretation this time around! Has your tribute pissed off the crowd enough by refusing to cater to their wishes that they get clobbered by a thrown Authentic Babe Adroxis Lunchbox™? Or have they pissed off the Gamemakers enough to warrant being divebombed by a flock of surprisingly hostile delivery words? Or maybe they just tripped and sprained their ankle on the sandy terrain of the arena? In this case, the world is your oyster, and you can take this damage however you see fit (within reason, of course).
Any of the following damages may be requested ONCE total during round one (i.e. if you request the 5 damage now, you will not be able to request the 10 damage later). And as per usual, if you'd rather leave the details up to fate, you are more than welcome to roll for it as well!
