Day 1 - The Demise of Alex Henning

Outside the screen, there’s an outcry of voices. Dead eyes left behind with the Panem Flag folded over a coffin. Saber Bancroft’s been to many funerals exactly the same as the current one happening. All of the people left behind distraught in the loss; An endless stream of outcry is enough to prove a point. The Gamemaker Headquarters is a warm comfort in the chaos of everything. The protocol had been made for a purpose just like this one. Protocol Dagger. His voice finding way through the chaos of the headquarters, heavy and filled with confidence. "Activate Protocol Dagger. The Capitol demands of it."

Inside the screen, the tributes have found themselves asleep all around the arena. Peacefully resting tributes, unaware of what’s about to happen. The Kobolds swarm quickly in a rush around one specific tribute who rests alone. Their voices echoing in unison as she’s awoken by their grubby hands pushing her over their heads. "Sacrifice! Sacrifice!" Escape is futile when the large group of kobolds take Alexandra Henning in the middle of the night, marching towards the cave where the sound of snoring echoes louder and louder until it goes dead silent. Rope is tied around her, planting her onto a stake in the earth, just inside the Cave. The Kobolds’ chants get louder and louder as the swarm of them rush forward to get a glimpse. After, Alex’s scattered things tumble over the mossy terrain. The dice she was gifted and the Gamemaker’s glass die clatter together. Many are lost.

All at once it is quiet.

The dice come to rest showing snake eyes.
