Moses Delmar // [D4&CBD2&F'IN]

Ever since he’s been young enough to tie his shoes, Moses has been on a boat. He’s the youngest of his generation of Delmars so he’s always had a lot of catching up to do. Like all those who came before him, he quickly switched from tying shoelaces to tying casting lines. Every hand, no matter how small, is expected to help in their family, whether that’s cleaning the day’s catch or plotting the next day’s sail.

Rhythm and routine speak to Moses, just like the ebb and flow of the sea. He attends school during the stormy season. But whenever the sea calls, he’s on deck, ready to work. It’s his easygoing nature that makes him so popular with the Delmars and such an enigma at school. It’s not that he intends to be difficult to read, just that he’s most content with his own thoughts.

Now that he’s nearly beyond reaping age he’s begun to think about what he’d like to do next. He’s saving the pittance he receives in exchange for the backbreaking shipwork. He has his eye on a little dingy, nothing too fancy, that he can take in the shallows and dive for crustaceans. A little boat, just big enough for one, from which he can watch the sunsets.
