For my birthday this year, Grandma and Grandpa Shore got me 11 presents cuz I'm 11 years old, but I didn't get them until two weeks after my birthday cuz Mom wouldn't bring Jade and I over to their house! I told Grandma, "Thank goodness you didn't get us a puppy or something!"

I got my first full throwing knife set, but Grandpa Fray says I'm not a knife guy, I'm a two-handed sword kinda guy. They got to come to our birthday party, but after what happened during dinner I don't think they'll be able to come back for a while. "Strongest Fray since your Uncle Kaiser," he said, winking at me. Uncle Kaiser was a tribute in the 76th Hunger Games before Jade and I were even born, so I didn't get to know him but I've watched his games a bunch of times with Grandpa Fray. Dad asked them to start warning him at least and Grandma Fray said, "You expect them to tell me anything? Yeah right!"

They made Jade and I go play in the next room, so we both stood next to the door and listened to their conversation. Mom and Dad were mad at them for training us, cuz they already have a schedule for us that we need to stick to if we're gonna be any good, and then Grandpa Fray said, "until you two sort your [bad word] out, your mother and I will do whatever is necessary to make sure our grandchildren have a good future, understand?" And then Dad got up and walked to the door and stood there until they left.

And then Jade and I ran to our play room and pretended we'd been sparring the whole time.
