I'm such a Holiday hater. I don't like buying gifts for anyone but myself, and the family time is so exhausting. They're alright, a lot of my siblings are cool people, but when are you guys going to start moving out already? Don't mean to be such a downer, but there's a reason I smoke up so much when I'm stuck around these people.

They're all crazy.

Since break has started, I've hardly left my room. Every time I leave it I remember another reason why I shouldn't have, but you've gotta eat to survive. The fridge is my second home now, I'll give it to Delilah the snacks around here go hard. I'm going through the pantry, sneaking assorted cookies as I search until I find "a gingerbread house kit?" How fucking lame.

Let's do it. I toss the kit onto the counter and start rummaging through it, stealing a gumdrop before dumping out all the contents. Damn, this is a big ass 'house.' I start eating a gingerbread head-first as I unfold the gingerbread instructions.

I'm not saying Tatiana isn't a grinch... she's just kinda a buzzkill? Not even holiday-specific, she just seems to be unsatisfied 24/7. I get it - she's a Leo. But like, c'mon! It's the holidays!

Maybe I'm just an extrovert, idk!

The one thing she is good for is staking out the best snacks. I swapped butterfly clips for a pack of Cheetos last week, girl might be a buzzkill but she's a business woman and I can respect that.

"Hey! Tati! Don't behead the gingerbread enby just yet-" tf? This girl never made a gingerbread house in her life or something? Guncle Fee and I used to make these all the time and you only behead them at Halloween. Wrong holiday chickie!

"We don't need instructions" and they're balled up into a crumpled mess, yelling "KOBE!" as I shoot and - miss, damn - the garbage bin. (I don't even know what Kobe means to be fair, it's just something you yell, y'know? Probably the ancient god of aim before the Dark Days, fuck knows.)

"Hey, I was fake-reading that!" How are you going to rip the book out of my hands, try to throw it away and miss? Like, come on, you just got three strikes so fast, fam.

When I said the other Harvards were weird, I was talking about Bow. Just kidding, they're not that bad, but they did totally just trash any chance I had at building this correctly. I'm not like, anal about getting it right, but considering this is like a Gingerbread Holliday Inn, I'm gonna be devo if this turns out shit.

I just watch Bow for a second as they start putting pieces down and icing in whatever fits. "Is there a method to the madness or should I just," I stick a wall right into the piping Bow laid down. It looks right enough, right? "Oh wait," these little windows pop out, that's why they look like this, duh.

CRACK! "...fuck."

The wall falls into three pieces in my hand, broken right down a diagonal crack. Well, I gave it a good attempt, better start eating the evidence.

Halfway through my prayer to Patron Saint of Fashion, Sampson Crowe, when this bitch breaks the fourth wall! And not in a Hunger Games, message-to-your-loved-ones kinda way. In a our gingerbread house is BUSTED kinda way!

I come across a bunch of black licorice that I think is the drive way. Makes sense, right? Only problem is that licorice is totally gross, just touching it gives me the ick. "Hold up, is this the foundation? Should we have put that down first?" Come on Tati, just trust the process, girl.
