Attention: Serious Site Member Update: (TW: death)

in light of this information, i wanted to come in here and take a moment to share a couple things:

1. please, please take some time for yourselves to process this, whether it be talking to someone, grabbing a cup of tea or coffee, or just giving someone a hug, all of it is extremely important in times like this.

2. I want to take this time to tell a story of just how much i appreciated daniel. Ill never forget being a new member on the site and him, being one of the first people to actually message me on slack just to tell me i made a funny joke. little did i think that would turn into tons of chances where we would trade slack messages just laughing and giggling about the most random things. it made navigating this community so much easier when i first got here, and i will always appreciate that about him.

He will truly be missed.

please post below your fondest memories with ghosty. i think we should share and then send this to his parents just so they know how much he impacted this community and just how much he was loved here.

Thanks Daniel for being a rockstar friend the past seven years. He was a hilarious and kind guy without a mean bone in his body. It’s really hard to process I won’t hear from you again, no one else can make Overwatch tolerable to play man. From Overwatch to Minecraft to Dead by Daylight, I’m gonna miss waking up at 6am just to lose games with you. The adventures of Dollvo was peak D&D and Saturday’s won’t be the same without you.

I want to share this thread from the 86th. Caleb and Andorra have such a soft spot in my heart and I couldn’t have told half a good a story without Daniel by my side those games. I remember us gushing over this thread every chance we could, and I’m grateful to have gotten my favorite 1v1 with you

Daniel, I had the greatest pleasure of spending every Saturday together with you in D&D.

He was a kind-hearted person and it showed immensely in his characters. From the very first day, I was captivated by his kindness, warmth, and wit, but also his great sense of humor that he would surprise us with to make a joke all the more special. His character, Tahvo, encapsulated the values he believed in: peace, hope, and light. Light that could purify as well as soothe. He was also utterly hilarious, much like his creator.

Most, if not all, of the greatest moments in that campaign were with Daniel present or of his doings. He had a remarkable talent at making others feel welcomed and celebrated. Deft at weaving stories together.

We laughed together, adventured together, loved and grieved together as one party, schemed awful plans, believed in all sorts of magic, and as painful as his loss is, I am grateful for all the great memories he has left us, as well as the kindness he gave so freely to others. I shall cherish the memory of your laughter on every Saturday forever.

Hi friends, I have since spoken with Daniel's mother and shared the dedication with her. She wanted me to pass on her thanks for arranging such a lovely thing for Daniel and is grateful to know he had all of us.

I have purchased the planned plot, and shared the map + deliverables with Dan's mother as well. She says she'll let us know when they've been for a visit and I'll of course share any photos she shares with us.

Please feel free to reach out to me on slack for the same deliverables, I don't want to post them online as I got the sense that his family is rather private and I don't want to overstep anything at all.
