Hell, I can't remember the last time we said "I love you" and meant it. 

It's a soulless marriage, but I don't feel trapped. I loved her, once, when we were in our 20's and full of ambitions. Back before our invincibility ran out and the world came down on us, I'd hear music when we kissed. I haven't kissed her since Flynn came home, and even then we both regretted it. We don't touch when we sleep, she doesn't even say goodbye before she leaves. 

And she always leaves. 

It doesn't bother me - she gave me three perfect, weird ass kids, I can't ask much more of her. When people ask, I tell them I'm married to my job - at least then they'll see some passion on my face. It's the only thing that kept me sane when they took Flynn. I was a different man then, I hardly spoke and I didn't make eye contact. They put my son through hell and all I could do was watch. 

I'd rather be killed than go through that again. I've still got two girls to worry about, and each quell I can't help but anticipate the worst; that they'll take my boy again. Those kids are my inspiration, even when I'm deprived and alone with my wife, even on the worst days. 

I brought them into this shit world, and goddamn it I'll kill anyone who tries to hurt them again. I love each of them with my whole heart, that I can say.
