Getting into the nursing field was one of the deities' damned best decisions I ever made. It's stressful, sure, but it's something I'm actually passionate about. For the longest time, as a kid and teenager, I really didn't know what I wanted to do with my life, especially after Jackson died. It's been nearly twenty years since Jackson's death and I still struggle with it a little bit sometimes, but I'm getting a lot better with the grieving, and having something to do that I'm passionate about certainly helps, too.

Growing up, before Jackson died, there were four of us as kids in the family. We were all very close as a family, despite Dad never really being home. I was terrified of the Games as a kid, too, and rightfully so. I still hate to watch, seeing those kids rip each other apart for the Capitol's entertainment. Or, as they'd claim it to be, quelling any chance at rebellion. A punishment for the rebels in the past. Whatever they feel like considering it now.

I always admired the rebels of the past, but knew I held too much fear to ever become one myself. I could never start a movement like that, so as I live my life in the terrifying nation of Panem, I'll just continue to pursue my passions (like nursing) and try to ignore the outside world.
